Tick-Borne Illnesses

Do you experience migrating muscle pain, joint inflammation, or neurological issues? You may be dealing with a tick-borne illness like Lyme disease, babesiosis, or anaplasmosis. These infections can often go undiagnosed for years, leading to a wide array of chronic symptoms, including brain fog, heart palpitations, digestive issues, night sweats, dizziness, and sensitivity to light, to name a few.

If you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing’s worked, chances are you haven’t addressed the right root cause yet. Think of it like a car—you wouldn’t fix a dead battery by topping up the fuel. The same logic applies to your body: if something’s not working, there’s a physiological reason why.

Identifying and addressing those underlying factors is the crucial first step. And that’s exactly what I help my patients do—through 1:1 sessions, functional testing and my Energy Reset Program—so they can stop guessing and start truly recovering their energy. Join us!

Read on to learn how tick-borne diseases cause fatigue, and what you can do about it.

What’s Going On in the Body?

Pathogens from tick bites can evade the immune system, causing chronic, systemic inflammation, which can impact every body system. These infections impair mitochondrial function by disrupting energy production pathways and can alter the autonomic nervous system, leading to fatigue, pain, and difficulty sleeping. Babesiosis and anaplasmosis can affect red blood cells, leading to anemia, which reduces the oxygen supply to tissues and muscles, making fatigue even worse. The ongoing battle between the immune system and the infection also drains energy reserves, further contributing to persistent fatigue.

What You Can Do About It:

  • Take my free symptom-based quiz to uncover your most likely co-infections

  • Get Tested for Tick-Borne Diseases: See testing options HERE

  • Manage inflammation: Work with a practitioner to shift from the dominant Th1 immune response to a balanced Th2 response, this is a crucial step in overcoming Lyme.

  • Antimicrobial Treatment: Consider herbal treatments (e.g., Japanese knotweed, cat’s claw) or antibiotics if appropriate, under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

  • Support detoxification: Detox strategies such as sweating (sauna therapy, hot yoga, vigorous exercise), liver support (milk thistle), and binders (charcoal or bentonite clay) can help remove toxins released by the pathogens.

  • Join the FIRED UP Energy Reset Program, where we uncover your root causes of fatigue so you can get your energy back for good.
