MCAS
If you have unexplained fatigue, hives, itching, flushing, food intolerances, or sensitivity to heat, smells, or chemicals, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) may be affecting your energy levels. Other symptoms include dizziness, brain fog, gastrointestinal distress, and heart palpitations.
If you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing’s worked, chances are you haven’t addressed the right root cause yet. Think of it like a car—you wouldn’t fix a dead battery by topping up the fuel. The same logic applies to your body: if something’s not working, there’s a physiological reason why.
Identifying and addressing those underlying factors is the crucial first step. And that’s exactly what I help my patients do—through 1:1 sessions, functional testing and my Energy Reset Program—so they can stop guessing and start truly recovering their energy. Join us!
Read on to learn how MCAS can cause fatigue, and what you can do about it.
What’s Going On in the Body?
Mast cells are a crucial part of the immune system, releasing histamine and other inflammatory mediators to fight infections and heal wounds. In MCAS, these cells become overactive, leading to impaired methylation, sulfation, and glutathione pathways causing chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction.
This excessive immune response can cause fatigue and neurological symptoms, because it impairs blood flow and oxygen delivery to tissues and cells around the body.
What You Can Do About It:
Join FIRED UP Energy Reset Program, where we uncover your root causes of fatigue so you can get your energy back for good.
Testing: DNA tests, Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis or the DUTCH test for women or men may be recommended, depending on your specific symptoms and health history.
Investigate Root Cause: Work with a knowledgeable practitioner to identify your root causes. MCAS can be caused by poor methylation, heavy metals, nutrient deficiencies and infections (Lyme, Mold, herpes viruses, autoimmune conditions and Gut Pathogens).
Reduce histamine triggers: Identify and eliminate high-histamine foods and environmental triggers while you address the cause.
Stabilize mast cells: Nutrients like quercetin, vitamin C, and DAO enzymes can help, however these do not address the root cause.
