Long COVID
Fatigue is one of the most common lingering symptoms of Long Covid. Without the right treatment, this post-viral syndrome can drain your energy for months or even years. After the acute infection resolves, the body continues to experience post-exertional malaise (worse of symptoms after exercise or mental exertion). In addition to fatigue, other long COVID symptoms include brain fog, dizziness, skin rashes, shortness of breath, headaches, sleep disturbances and muscle weakness and a long list of others.
If you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing’s worked, chances are you haven’t addressed the right root cause yet. Think of it like a car—you wouldn’t fix a dead battery by topping up the fuel. The same logic applies to your body: if something’s not working, there’s a physiological reason why.
Identifying and addressing those underlying factors is the crucial first step. And that’s exactly what I help my patients do—through 1:1 sessions, functional testing and my Energy Reset Program—so they can stop guessing and start truly recovering their energy. Join us!
Read on to learn how Long COVID causes fatigue, and what you can do about it.
What’s Going On in the Body?
Long COVID is characterized by persistent immune activation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and endothelial damage. Viral remnants can trigger chronic inflammation, leading to overactivation of the immune system and cytokine storms. This inflammatory response disrupts oxygen utilization in cells, leading to energy deficits and increased fatigue. Additionally, microclots and endothelial dysfunction can impair oxygen delivery to tissues, exacerbating post-exertional malaise and neurological symptoms such as brain fog.
What You Can Do About It:
Correct nutritional imbalances: People with Long COVID tend to have very low levels of specific nutrients (protein, B12, vitamin A, D and zinc). The Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, is a great way to assess nutrient deficiencies and immune imbalances associated with Long COVID.
Manage inflammation: Work with a practitioner to shift from the dominant Th1 immune response to a balanced Th2 response, this is a crucial step in halting damage and symptoms.
Testing Options: In addition to a Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, we check Inflammatory markers (CRP, IL-6, ferritin), D-dimer for micro clots, mitochondrial function tests, and use autonomic nervous system assessments.
Heal your nervous system: Join either the Vagus Nerve Revival Program or the Neural “rewiring” Program to overcome chronic health issues of all kinds
